About Me
I've loved words from the moment I received my very first vocab list in elementary school. Words are more than just informational, they're a powerful tool of transformation.
As a storyteller, I use words to entertain. As a professional, I use words to build relationships for businesses, organizations, and individuals.
After studying creative writing with amazing professors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to language: writing, reading, editing, storytelling. My background in marketing and education has fostered my ability to write in multiple formats on a variety of topics, from architecture to Zen Buddhism.
Most recently I was marketing coordinator for Piano Power, a music teaching group in Chicago. I have self-published a novel, am currently at work on my second, and as an essayist have participated in Chicago's vibrant "live lit" community, performing at venues such as Write Club, Guts & Glory, Story Club, and The Paper Machete. I have also served as a StoryBooth Facilitator at StoryCorps at the Chicago Cultural Center, and --forever a yogi!-- earned my 200-hour yoga teacher certification at Bloom yoga studio in Chicago.
